A mural in which every tesserae — every individual piece of glass or stone — is cut by hand and placed by hand into the design. Nothing is printed, and no uniform machine-cut grid is used, so curves and fine detail hold instead of breaking into steps.
It depends on four things above all: wall area, tesserae size, material and how much fine detail the design contains. Typically four to seven weeks from approved proof to shipping for a bespoke mural. Small roundels can be quicker. Large contract schemes with sample-board approval take longer. We issue a dated production programme with every quotation.
Yes. We ship worldwide from Foshan and have delivered to over thirty countries. Mosaics travel flat, crated with edge protection and numbered sections, together with the setting-out drawing.
That is how most commissions start. Send the highest resolution image you have plus the wall size and we will return a free proof showing how it translates into mosaic.
The glass itself is non-porous and frost-proof, which is why the same material lines swimming pools. Waterproofing a wall depends on the full assembly — substrate, adhesive and grout — and we issue the wet-area specification with the mural.
Usually yes, with the correct preparation: degreasing and abrading gloss tiles, or keying and priming painted plaster, and using an adhesive rated for the substrate. Full guidance is in our installation guide.
Warm water and a soft cloth for routine cleaning, a mild non-abrasive cleaner for grease. Avoid acidic descalers and abrasive pads, particularly on gold-leaf glass. Cementitious grout should be sealed on installation and the seal maintained.
No. Glass and stone colour runs through the body of the material rather than sitting on the surface as a coating, and vitreous glass is UV-stable. A mosaic in direct sun will still look the same colour in fifty years.
Often yes, including historic work. Send photographs of the damaged area with a scale reference and tell us the approximate age; we will tell you how closely we can match.
No formal minimum. In practice the economics favour pieces of roughly one metre across or larger, but our smallest roundels are still fully handmade.
Yes — for contract and interior design projects we supply a physical sample board of the actual materials and palette for sign-off. For residential commissions, material photographs and the proof rendering are usually sufficient.
Both. Our collection of twenty-one designs can be ordered broadly as shown, or adapted in scale, palette and format. Bespoke work from your own artwork is the larger part of what we do.
